D. Mildred (Rollins) McLain graduated to eternal life into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 26, 2016. Mildred was born in Britton, OK, May 2, 1925 to William and Pearl Rollins. She attended Bethany High School and Blackwood-Davis Business College. She met Carroll McLain upon his return from World War II where he had served with the 45th Infantry Division. It was at a church party and Mildred told her mom when she went home that she had met the man she would marry. It was love at first sight. They were married on October 20, 1946 and they were together for 53 years until Carrolls graduation to eternal life on Nov 10, 1999. True Story: Never a cross word between them! In 1955, Mildred went to work in the business office of the Bethany Medical Center, which was located where Bethany First Church of the Nazarene now sits. She moved with Dr. Paul D. Macrory to Western Oaks Medical Center, which is now Mercy Health Bethany. Mildred finally retired in 2008 at the age of 82 with over 53 years of serving people with their insurance and billing needs. She loved Jesus more than anything and she loved people like Jesus told us to. Mildred was always giving of herself in so many different ways. For over forty years she prepared a Sunday meal for not only all of her family, but any friend was welcomed as well. Only requirement for Sunday dinner was a bulletin from the church service. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. They were the center of her life. She was the perfect example of unconditional love, especially with her family. Many of her great grandchildren called her "Great Mother," because they couldnt say it all. Her next love was sports, almost any sport. Mix those loves and you have the biggest sport fan in the world, especially if one of her own were participating. Very seldom did she miss any one of their games of softball, basketball, baseball, or soccer. Mildred loved her Sooners and Thunder. She could and would talk sports with anyone. Her legacy is one that each of us should strive to attain. Compassionate, kind, loyal, giving, loving are just a few of the words to describe Mildred. She wanted good things for all, but when bad happened, she knew her God was in charge and would be her counselor and consoler. This was her life witness. She let people see what it meant to be Christ-like through her relations with family, friends or strangers. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Kenneth and Alva, and sister, Winona Garrison. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (McLain) & Dan Clipson; son, Jerry McLain; grandchildren Travis Clipson, Lance Clipson, and Kimberly (McLain) Williamson; and 5 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Cole and Kate Clipson, Grey Williamson, and Baylor Tibbets.
