Mickey Leroy Wilson, 87, passed away peacefully April 8, 2009 at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Carolyn Wilson. He was born September 27, 1921 in Minco, Oklahoma to Frank Wilson and Ruth Kilgore. He was raised in south Oklahoma City and graduated from Capitol Hill High School. He was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the Battleship U.S.S. New Mexico as a gunners mate. He worked several years on the Oklahoma City Police Department, then he and Frances owned and operated the Gateway and Mickeys Coney restaurants from 1950-1980 in the Oklahoma City Stockyards. He loved ballroom dancing with his wife and enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances and son-in-law, Jack Jackson. Survivors include children Michael Wilson and wife Carolyn, Patricia Jackson, Bill Wilson and wife Robbie; grandchildren Michelle Westerman, Melissa Young and husband Olan, Merrie Lynn Vaughan and husband Steve, Lance Jackson and wife Carol, Roger Jackson and wife Cindy, Kimberly Lee and husband Tony, Adrienne Loehr and husband Brian, Brian Wilson, Shane Ramsey; great-grandchildren Zeke and Lanie Young, Wesley and Laurabelle Vaughan, Brandon, BriAnne, Corey and Brittni Jackson, Danielle and Dustin Lee, Colin and Andrew Loehr, Madison, Makelle, Marshall and Melana Wilson; great-great granddaughter Taylor Jackson; niece Janet Hirons and husband Tom; and nephew Matt Meredith and wife Debbie. Special thanks to Good Shepherd Hospice for their love and care. Services will be Saturday, April 11, 1:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Chapel Hill.
