Michael William Watson, 63, entered his eternal rest on June 11, 2025. Born on October 26, 1961, to Amos and Pauline Watson, Michael grew up in Amarillo, Texas. He graduated from Caprock High School in 1980 and enjoyed playing football during high school.

A year after graduating, Michael joined the U.S. Army and went on to serve in the Army National Guard for several years. His favorite job was being a basketball referee for local basketball organizations. He spent much of his life on the open road, working as a long-haul truck driver. Despite living in Kansas for many years and spending his last years in Oklahoma City, Amarillo was always the place he called home.

Michael was very friendly and quick with a joke, always ready to bring a smile to someone's face. He greatly enjoyed watching sports and especially treasured the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren, Charlotte and Nolan.

Michael was preceded in death by his son, Terry Watson; his parents, Amos and Pauline Watson; his sister, Carolyn Watson McMinn; and his brother, Terry Watson.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Charlotte Watson of Euless, TX and Nolan Watson of Amarillo, TX; his sister, Sharon Watson Garrett (and husband Dale) of Yukon, OK; his brother-in-law, Jim McMinn of Hayesville, KS; and five beloved nieces and their families.

Arrangements are being handled by Mercer-Adams Funeral Service in Bethany, OK. A graveside service will be held at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, TX on June 17, 2025 at 10:00 am.

Michael will be missed by all who know him. His humor, kindness, and open heart left a lasting mark on everyone he met.
