Michael D. Tate, 56, died December 3, 2014 in Oklahoma City. He was born August 20, 1958 in OKC to David and Janet (Blaylock) Tate. Mike attended Yukon public schools until his senior year and graduated from Putnam City West High School in 1976. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 2013. He served as a member of the US Air Force Reserve attached to the 72nd Airborne Unit. Mike was an accomplished artist - whether it was wood carving, pencil and charcoal drawing, or acrylic painting. He was also an outstanding craftsman. Mike was preceded in death by his sister, Darla. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Lynette; son, Michael Tate and wife Wendy; two granddaughters, Kinsey and Kylee; his parents, David Tate of Yukon and Janet Tate of OKC; and numerous friends. Memorial service will be Monday, December 8, 2:00pm at his father's home, 10428 N.W. 63rd St., Yukon, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
