Charles Michael Pennington was born in Okarche, OK on January 8, 1956 to Charles and Bea Pennington. Mike lived in Oklahoma working in the oilfields and at Gulfstream Aerospace until relocating to Florida in 1991.
At that time, he began a career with Lincoln Property Management Company, working in several cities in Florida and Georgia, and rising through the ranks to achieve a position as District Maintenance Director. In 2015, he left Lincoln Property to move back to Bethany to care for aging parents and be close to family.
Mike was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He was never happier than when he was in the countryside in Geary OK.
Mike never met a stranger he frequently engaged restaurant wait staff and store clerks in conversations during his business travels, and his coworkers have lots of amusing stories of their trips with him.
He had a heart of gold. When Mike made a friend, it was a lifetime commitment for him. He personified the "friend who sticks closer than a brother." His only love greater than his family and friends was for His Lord and Savior. He never failed to start each day by thanking God for the breath of life or eat a meal without first bowing his head to say grace.
Mikes all-too-brief life on this earth ended on Thursday, June 14, 2018. He is now at eternal rest with his Dad and other beloved family members. He is survived by his mother; sister, Donna and husband Bruce Daves; niece, Dana Reeves; great nephew, Austin Reeves; stepchildren, Jose Saenz and Andrea Murillo; life-long friend, Carolyn Weaver; and many cousins and friends who will forever miss and remember him.
