Michael "Mike" Kent
Harris
Aug 5, 1951 — Sep 24, 2024
Michael "Mike" Kent Harris, born in Oklahoma City on August 5, 1951, was son to William J. and Josie (Finefrock) Harris, brother to Kelsie, father to Brandon and Cameron, and uncle to Kenzie and Will.
Mike attended Putnam City High School as well as the University of Oklahoma, where he studied music. He was a lifelong member of St. Luke's Methodist Church and worked in aircraft maintenance at Tinker Air Force Base. As a youth, Mike enjoyed playing the accordion, vocal competition, Boy Scouts and CB radios. As an adult, he fervidly kept abreast of Oklahoma City's growth, local news and attractions.
He was an avid sports enthusiast, supporting Blazers hockey and OU football, officiating for youth baseball and softball and score keeping for Thunder basketball.
Through life's challenges, Michael aspired to the wisdom of Proverbs 3:5-6, which says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight."
