Michael C. Canada joined his lovely bride and Lord and Savior, July 25, 2016, two months and 1 day after his wife. Mike was born September 12, 1946 to Wynona (Cherry) and Roy Canada and raised in OKC. Mike attended Putnam City schools and joined the USMC in 1964 and served our country for 4 yrs. On June 27, 1971, he married the love of his life, Sandra Kay Franklin. She was everything to him and his primary caregiver for the last few years. Mike was a salesman by trade and personality. He worked for Klein Tools for 24 years, which many knew within minutes of meeting him. He enjoyed traveling for his work and getting to attend multiple car races and even the Olympics as a perk. Hunter, golfer, coach, and Bubba describe Him best. He always made his presence known the minute he entered a room or even a few steps before. Mikey was never one to keep anything inside, therefore we all knew where we stood with him. It was a gift that kept people wanting more time with him. His jokes, well, were not always appropriate, but the ability to make people laugh and smile he was second to none. His Jitterbug days were some of his fondest memories even as other memories faded in the recent years. Bubba enjoyed every second with his grandbabies. He loved going to their activities, taking them to 7-11, Dollar General, or just being in their presence and watching them play. Mike survived two bouts of cancer and was fortunate to receive a stem cell transplant. We are grateful to God, Dr. Mandanas and his nurse Barbara, and radiation therapist (niece), Julie, for allowing us to have him an extra 12 years. They sure were interesting to say the least. He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, Jim and Vivian Franklin, cherished lab, Sadi, and his Sandra Kay. Mike is survived by his daughters, Cari and fianc Eric and Jami (Robby); grandkids, Lauren, Logan, Lane, Harper and Halle; his sister, Cherry Janell (David) and brother- in-law, Stan (Judy); many wonderful nieces and nephews; and countless friends. In lieu of flowers, please donate to New Covenant Christian Church where Mike was a member for over 30 years. Memorial service will be Friday, July 29, 1:00pm at New Covenant Christian Church.
