Merwin L. Hamman was born on July 31, 1941 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and passed away on October 12, 2024. He graduated from Putnam City High School. He married Lendell Martin on August 3, 1962 at Westgate Church of the Nazarene in Warr Acres, OK. Upon the closing of Westgate, they attended Bethany First Church of the Nazarene.

Merwin proudly served on the Bethany Police Department for 23 years. He also provided security for Putnam City Schools and KWTV Channel 9 in Oklahoma City.

Merwin was preceded in death by his parents, Roy "Pete" and Dorothy Hamman; brother, David; and sister, Tommy Gayle Hutchins. He is survived by his wife, Lendell; daughters, Melinda Hamman and Melanie (Jim Ed) Wyatt; grandchildren, Zane, Samantha, and Cole; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be Thursday, October 17 from 9am-2:00pm. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment to follow in Bethany Cemetery.
