Merel Loyd Cornelius passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011. He was born February 26, 1949 to Wilson and Fay Cornelius in Altus, OK. He graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Central State University. Most recently, he was a M.E.T. supervisor at Home Depot. An avid hunter and fisherman, Merel loved the outdoors. Above all, he was an amazing father and grandfather and touched many lives. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilson Cornelius. He is survived by his love of 16 years, LaVada Lacey; mother, Fay Cornelius; brothers, Jerry and Derel Cornelius; daughter, Misty Cornelius; son, Cody Cornelius; step-children, Jada Wilmeth and Lacey Wilson; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. Viewing will be Wednesday from 8am-9pm with the family receiving guests from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams in Bethany. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 31, at 2pm at LifeChurch-Yukon Campus, followed by interment in Resthaven Cemetery.
