Obituary

Melvin E. Maddox, 92, of Oklahoma City, went to be with our Lord and Savior on October 8, 2009, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Golden City, MO. on August 7, 1917 to Lola & Walter Earl Maddox. He was in the Army Air Corps in World War II and traveled throughout India and Asia. While living in Oklahoma City, he was actively involved in The Lions Club, Full Gospel Businessmen and Crossings Community Church. He was a fun loving father, friend and husband and he will be missed by all who knew him. Mel was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, June Maddox, his grandson, Andy Lucas, and a son-in-law, Doug Lolley. He is survived by his four daughters, Melinda Lolley of Houston, TX, Marilyn Molnar and her husband Greg of Arlington, TX, Marcia Maurer and her husband Bryan of Castle Rock, CO, Melissa Taylor and her husband Rick of Bethany, OK; eight grandchildren, Mike Lolley, Lisa Jackson, Brett Shelhimer, Dana Minissale, Meredith Rudden, Chris Lucas, and Greg and Matthew Maurer and 14 great grandchildren. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Excel Hospice and the loving staff at Lackey Manor at Baptist Village. Funeral services will be Monday, Oct. 12, 2009 at 2:00p.m. at Mercer Adams Chapel, Bethany, OK with interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
