Melvadean Deaton (Deanie) passed away on August 1, 2024 in Oklahoma City. She was born on September 9, 1930 to Robert Melvin Young and Anna Ruth Stepp in Chetopa, Kansas. She married William E. Deaton on February 27, 1949 in Chetopa, Kansas. Deanie was a homemaker and a wonderful stay-at-home mother.

Deanie was a very nurturing person, a wonderful wife and loving mother to her two sons. She cared for neighbors and friends along with her family throughout her life. She loved spending time with her large extended family, especially when they all gathered at her parents' house around the holidays. Along with her husband Bill, they traveled extensively in the USA and visited several European countries. Deanie loved and doted on her grandson, Thomas, especially in his younger years.

When Bill became seriously ill, she truly showed what she was made of, taking loving and wonderfully devoted care of him until his passing.

Deanie was preceded in death by her parents; beloved spouse of 60 years, Bill; her brothers, Woodrow, Bill and Lowndes; and sisters, Gladys and Bobby.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert Deaton and John Deaton; her sister, Ruth Cole; and her grandson, Thomas Deaton. She will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, August 10, at 2pm at Northwest Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, with interment following in Rose Hill Burial Park.
