Maxine Lily Sproat, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at her home on June 17, 2020 surrounded by family. Maxine was born on January 4, 1930 in Kiowa County, OK to Robert Vern and Marie Hayslip. She was raised near Babbs Switch, OK and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1948. She married Earl Sproat on February 11, 1950 in Cordell, OK.
Maxine began a long career in banking in the 1950s when she joined the Anadarko Bank and Trust Company. In December 1961, she was one of the first employees of Community Bank and Trust Company of Warr Acres, OK where she worked for the next 20 years. After retiring from banking, Maxine worked in the Business Office at Integris Baptist Medical Center for another 10 years. In her later life, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Earl Sproat; her parents; sister, Viola Maney; and brother, Elton Hayslip. She is survived by her son, Scott Sproat and his wife, Laura Beebe of OKC; 2 grandchildren, Madelyn Sproat and Samuel Sproat, both of OKC; and sister, Barbara Loyack of Ringgold, GA.
The family would like to thank Dr. Charlotte Coyner, the physicians and staff of Stephenson Cancer Center and Integris Hospice for the care and support they provided Maxine.
Graveside services will be held Monday, June 22, 11:00am at Bethany Cemetery in Bethany, OK.
