Obituary

Julia Maxine Davidson was born on July 25, 1920 and departed this world into the arms of Jesus on June 9, 2010. She died peacefully at home with her family at her side. She was born in Healdon, OK to Elmer and Hazel May Cantrell. Maxine lived her early years in Seminole where her father worked as a supervisor in the oil patch and later moved to El Dorado, KS where she attended El Dorado High School and El Dorado Junior College. In 1952 she moved to Bethany, OK where she has spent the remainder of her life. Her career spanned years of service to Deaconess Hospital, Bethany Hospital, and 20 years as office manager for Western Oaks Anethesia for several doctors including Dr. Francis Oakes. After retirement Maxine was known as the insurance lady because she helped her friends and acquaintances with their insurance questions and problems. This was a great source of ministry, indeed. Maxine is survived by a daughter, Carol Ann Johnson and husband Bob, grandson, Steve Smith and wife Lindsey, granddaughter, Angela Poindexter and husband Bill, three great-granddaughters, Taelyr, Kayla and Madison, five great-grandsons, Chase, Shea, Tanner, Jacob and Dylan. She is also survived by a nephew, Rusty Smith and wife Jane, three nieces, Lynn Robnett and husband C. Ray, Nancy Stamp and Susan Stone, and a host of great nieces and nephews; all of which she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy, granddaughter, Stephanie and her sister, Helen. She was the best mom anyone could have, and a good and faithful friend to many. Kindness, thoughtfulness and compassion are words to describe Maxine. She always found the best in every situation and came through with a smile and a continued love for God. She chose to be happy and was a shining example for all of us. She will be remembered with great love for her kind heart and forgiving spirit. Visitation will be Friday, June 11, 2010 at 6-8 pm. Maxines life will be celebrated on Jun 12, 2010 at 2 pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service in Bethany, OK. Mom, thank you for the life you provided for me and the many good examples you set. You taught me how to handle life no matter what comes my way.
