Maxine Carlton, 87 yr. old from Bethany, OK, affectionately known by friends and family as Mac passed away Friday morning Nov. 11th at Integris Hospice House in Okla. City. Born March 20, 1929 in Antlers, Ok to Otto and Georgia (Spradlin) Willison. Married Aug 29, 1953 to Albert Van Carlton in Holdenville, OK. She attended college at Bethany Nazarene College. Maxine was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and researched the Willison family back to the American Revolution. She was active in the Church of the Nazarene and taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. Mac & Al were members of the Benchwarmers and supported the BNC Redskins and The SNU Chrimson Storm basketball teams for many years. She was the eldest of 5 siblings and her brothers and sisters say Mac practically raised them. Maxine was the matriarch of the Willison family. She is survived by husband, Al Carlton; sons, Doug Carlton, Ken Carlton, Tim Carlton; grandchildren, Garrett Carlton, Blake Carlton, Caley Carlton, Tanner Carlton; brothers, Ray Willison and Rod Willison; sisters, Bobbie Emmert and Phyllis Robinson. Service will be at 1:00pm Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
