Mary Nell Traywick was born in Wann, Oklahoma on May 2, 1936. At the age of 86, Mary Nell went to be with the Lord on October 24, 2022. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, JD Traywick, her parents, Clint and Audrey Chapman, and brothers, Bill and George Chapman. She is survived by her children, Debra Traywick of Edmond, and Cindy Powell and husband Darrel Powell of Yukon. The grandchildren that she adored are Melissa Garret and husband Aaron Garret from Amber, OK and Ashley Thomas and husband Colt Thomas of Yukon, OK. She is also survived by five great- grandchildren: Lilly, JD, Paisley, Trapper, and Josie. Mary Nell graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with her masters degree and was a business teacher in the Western Heights school district for 45 years. She was a member of Phi Delta Kappa Gamma. She had a passion for education and learning. She also had a love of the Lord and was a member of the Yukon First Church of the Nazarene where she served as a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years. Some of the priceless memories for Mary Nell were the times she served as the FBLA sponsor, the church youth choir sponsor, and family vacations. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and teacher. Funeral services will be Friday, October 28, 2022 at 10:30 AM at the Yukon First Church of the Nazarene with burial following in Frisco Cemetery, north of Yukon.
