Mary Bly McMillion Taylor, age 77, was born March 1, 1935, at home on her family farm near Williamsburg, West Virginia. She passed from this earthly life to her eternal reward with her Lord Jesus on August 30, 2012, at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Mary was a nurse, who served countless people during her 50-year career. Through her unique gift of caring about and remembering the smallest details of people's lives, Mary loved like few people can love. She was the first to care for those who experienced loss or hardship, providing food, cards, and loving words. She lived her life to serve others - at home, at work, at church, and among her friends. Mary Bly was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Dr. James E. Taylor; her parents, Herbert Ernest and Ruth Nunley McMillion; her brothers, James W. and Durward N. McMillion; and her sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Lee Jones. She is survived by her children and their spouses: J. Mark and Virginia Taylor of Edmond, OK; Melody and Todd Smith of Bedford, VA; Michael and Melodie Taylor of Georgetown, SC; and Marty and Kari Taylor of Orlando, FL; seven grandchildren who were the joy of her life - Chance and Daniel Taylor, Caleb and Luke Smith, Graham, Abbie, and Molly Bly Taylor, and a host of extended family and friends. The family will receive visitors at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service in Bethany on Monday, September 3, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. There will be a service honoring her life on Tuesday, September 4, at 10:00 a.m. at her home church, River of Life, 6901 N.W. 150th St. in Oklahoma City. Interment will be in West End Cemetery, Wytheville, VA.
