Mary Carolyn Shay was born December 25, 1946 in Tyler, Texas to Robert Norman and Sarah (Mills) Camper. She graduated with a BS in Nursing from Seattle Pacific University. She cared for many people in her career at Bethany Hospital, Deaconess, and Kindred, though her greatest passion was loving God and her family. Carolyn adored her husband, loved books, her grandkids, church, and all things bright and beautiful. She had a wonderful wit and loved to laugh. Carolyn passed away peacefully on January 27, 2017 and is survived by her husband, James; son, Seth and Elizabeth and their children Megan and Cameron; daughter, Sarah and Stephen Riley and their children Jonathan, Benjamin, Micah, and Gabriel; and a host of extended family and friends. Viewing will be Tuesday, 8am-9pm, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams in Bethany. Services will be Wednesday, February 1, 10:00am at Oklahoma City First Church of the Nazarene with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
