Obituary

Mary Frances Gassett, 86, of Oklahoma City, peacefully went to rest in the arms of Jesus, Saturday, July 11, 2020. Mary Frances was born September 23, 1933, in Oklahoma City to parents, Lyster and Lacie Neal. After graduating from Bethany High School, she married her sweetheart, Gerald Eugene Gassett, in 1952. Mary Frances had an enormous heart and was one who had an incredible gift of hospitality. She made an everlasting impact on many lives and was a true friend. Being a lover of people, her home was an open door where she made everyone feel welcome. She was especially fond of her grandkids who called her Mimi. Thoughtfully, she always made a special effort to keep her refrigerator well-stocked with root beers and Klondike bars when they came to visit. She also possessed the gift of creativity which was evident in her home as well as through her flower arrangements, decorating, and home cooking. She touched countless lives through her gifts. She deeply loved her family, friends, and the many adventures in life. Mary Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Gerald Eugene Gassett (1932-2010), her parents, Lyster and Lacie Neal, and older brother, Robert A. Neal. She is survived by her daughter, Sherri Pat Rothwell and husband Paul Rothwell of Yukon; son, Mark Gassett and wife Brenda of Bethany; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and a host of extended family.
