Mary Edna Bradford Engleking was born June 27, 1927 to Adron and Katherine (Ruyle) Bradford in Polk County Missouri. She graduated from Shidler High School in Shidler, Oklahoma and studied secretarial skills in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Mary and Ray Paul Engleking met in Bartlesville and were married on March 16, 1946. They celebrated 36 years of marriage before he passed away in December of 1982.
Mary was an active partner in church ministry with her husband Ray serving in various congregations including the Dacoma EUB and UMC churches in Mulhall/Orlando, Shawnee, Calumet, and Pawnee/Skeedee Oklahoma. Mary was always involved in ministries to women, children, and the UMW. While living in Salado, TX, Mary was also involved in the Garden Guild and Shepherds. She continued to serve in UMW when she returned to Oklahoma City at her home church, Cornerstone UMC.
Mary loved her work in food service at Tulsa Public Schools, Northwestern Oklahoma State University, Bone and Joint Hospital, and Oklahoma City Public Schools. She especially liked baking pastries and bread for everyone.
Some of her joys and skills included sewing and baking delicious cinnamon rolls, Aunt Inas bread, and Wacky cake for friends and family. Mary was an avid gardener, enjoyed attending Gospel concerts, plays, and attending great-grandchildrens activities. Mary was also very involved with her local Sunday School classes and Mobile Meals program.
In addition to her husband, Ray, Mary was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Billy Joe Engleking; sister, Virginia Lawson; half-brother, Ford Bradford, half-sister, Athelene Marling; granddaughter, Katherine Engleking; and great grandsons, Gabriel, Elliot, and Miles Snyder. Mary is survived by her sister, Ruth Long; sisters-in-law, Ruth Engleking and Martha Engleking; two sons and their wives; Ed and Betty Engleking, Don and Trenaise Engleking; and daughter and her husband, Paula and Johnny Snyder; and daughter-in-law, Barbara (Engleking) Deltufo. Mary is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Viewing will be Monday, November 1, 2021 from 9am-8pm with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Funeral service will be 10:00am Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Cornerstone United Methodist Church with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Bartlesville, OK at 3:30pm.
