Mary Ida Cole was called home by her Heavenly Father on July 8, 2020. Mary was born to Rollin and Juanita Shuler on September 10, 1941, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mary wed the love of her life, Phillip Joseph Cole, on September 18, 1959. Mary was a homemaker and for many years worked in cafeterias for the Putnam City School District. One of Marys passions was the mobile meals program for seniors through Metropolitan Baptist Church where she was a long-time member. Mary is survived by her husband of 60 years, Phillip Cole Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Patty Elder and her son, Phillip Cole Jr. and his wife Amy. She is survived by her brother, Don Shuler of Roosevelt, North Dakota. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Melody Downey and husband Matt, and Emily Cole, and by many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Rollin and Juanita Shuler, and they are having a joyous reunion with Mary in heaven. Mary will be remembered for her selfless love for her Lord, for her family, and for her friends. Mary spent her life in service of others and would always put the needs of others before her own. She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all. Our hearts are heavy at losing you so suddenly Mom, but we take comfort that you are resting in the arms of your Savior and we will all be reunited someday. Until that day, we will cherish the memory and example that you set for us. A graveside memorial service is scheduled at Bethany Cemetery on Tuesday, July 14 at 9:00 am.
