Obituary

Mary Ellen Bigler was born September 1, 1940 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Gerhard George Hinrichs and Thelma Ellen (Wilson) Hinrichs. Mary graduated from Ponca City High School in 1958. Mary was married in Ponca City to Curtis Davis in 1958. They lived in Ponca City and had one son, Terry. Mary and Curtis moved to the Oklahoma City area (Yukon, Mustang and Bethany) where they had two more children, Gina and Lisa. Mary worked for GE and Southwestern Bell as an operator, and Western Electric, Lucent, and Bell Communication Research for 12 years as QC and AQ before retiring in 2001. She continued her education and went to college for subjects that helped her on her job (electronics, English, writing, etc.) She enjoyed quilting and working on stained glass. Mary married John Bigler on February 14, 2002, Valentines Day. They loved to travel and in the last 17 years were able to go all over the United States as well as Canada, Mexico, England, Italy, and an Alaskan cruise. Mary went to Germany and met her dads family twice. John and Mary enjoyed going to hockey games, Broadway plays and to Branson to watch the shows. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John Wilson Hinrichs; her granddaughter, Blake Ann Davis; daughter-in-law, Deboran Ann (Anderson) Davis; and Sarah Phelps. Mary is survived by her husband, John Bigler; her brother, Eric Gerhard Hinrichs and wife Sheila from CA; Marys three children, Terry Wayne Davis of Warr Acres; Gina Leigh Davis Watson of Bethany; Lisa Dianne Minder of Warr Acres; grandchildren, Shane Paul Davis, Nathan Leigh Messenger, Kali Jeanette Messenger, Derek Andrew Minder and wife Vanessa, Malissa Ellen Minder; and numerous great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Integris Hospice for their help and professionalism. We cant say enough about these very special people. We would also like to thank the ALS Association for guidance and help. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Integris Hospice and/or ALS Association. Viewing will be Wednesday, 9am-9pm with family present from 5-7pm at Mercer-Adams. Marys funeral will be held Thursday, February 13, 2:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Yukon Cemetery.
