Memories fully restored at last! Mary Ann Bell, age 85, finally won her fight with Alzheimers on November 28th when she jumped into the arms of the Savior she has loved so long. Born in Oklahoma City, April 20, 1931, to F.G. and Gertrude Baker. She attended Classen High School, William Woods College, and Oklahoma State University. Though her gifts and talents offered many opportunities for her future, her choice was to live out a love story. Mary Ann and Jerry Lee met in kindergarten, but waited until eighth grade to fall in love. They were married February 21, 1953 and the love story survived and thrived through 62 plus years of marriage which included naval deployment, 18 moves, 9 new schools, youth groups, scouts, sporting events, auto accidents, singles groups, births and deaths, revivals and deserts. She was preceeded by her parents and older brother, Jimmy, and is separated for a while from Jerry and their two son's and daughter-in-laws, Mike and Vanette Bell, and Tim and Lisa Bell; five grandchildren, Jessica Sword and husband Tony, Daniel Bell and wife Whitney, Matthew Bell and wife Christa, David Bell, and Pierson Bell; and seven great grandchildren, Samantha Sword, Eli Bell, Addison Sword, Emma Bell, Ethan Bell, Hudson Bell, and Harper Bell. She leaves an inheritance of infinite value to her family and friends of unconditional love, warm hospitality (where everyone was "dear"), and the memories of the times she listened intently to the joys and sorrows of our lives and then gently reminded us that the love of Christ always wins the day. And win He has; for today, Mary Ann's eyes are once again open and bright, the missing pieces of memories have been found, recipes are fully remembered, and if our imagination allows us a picture into heaven's kitchen, we can catch the aroma of baking cookies and perhaps a few chocolate muffins. Memorial services will be Thursday, December 1, 2:00pm at OKC First Nazarene. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cole Community Center or Concordia Life Care Center.
