Marvin E. Mercer of Oklahoma City went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2009. He was born to Cora Mae Adams and A.H. Mercer on December 24, 1929. He served as a deacon for 47 years at Crestwood Baptist Church as well as Sunday school Director & teacher. His parents, a brother, a daughter and a grandson preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley; brother James Mercer and wife Edith of Decatur, Texas; sister-in-law Gladys Mercer; 6 children: Janet and Gary Millemon, Oklahoma City, Marsha Boyd, Ada, Oklahoma, Sharon Benefield, Mustang, Oklahoma, Jennifer and Jeff Moore, Yukon, Oklahoma, Michael Mercer, Oklahoma City, Bobby and Nicole Mercer, Oklahoma City; 15 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; 5 nephews and 1 niece. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 28 at Crestwood Baptist Church, 2515 NW 16th, Oklahoma City. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur, Oklahoma.
