Beloved older brother, cherished son and idolized uncle, Martin "Marty" Edward White, Bethany, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, Oct. 13, 2014. He was employed by the family business, Big 8 Bowling Service, as a bowling lane installer and had worked there since receiving an honorable discharge from the United States Navy. Besides his family, his passion was music and he was well known as "Sir Martin," his DJ name. He recently had the honor of playing Celtic Chaos at The Castle during the Burning Man Caravansary in Black Rock City, Nev. Aug. 25-Sept. 1. He also played locally at The Other Room and he was featured yearly at an art show, "Biting the Apple," hosted by IOA Gallery in Oklahoma City. After graduating from Putnam City West High School in 1997, Marty attended the University of Central Oklahoma before enlisting in the US Navy at age 19. He trained at the Meridian Naval Air Station in Meridian, Mississippi and a Seabee at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri before being stationed at the NATO base in Naples, Italy. He was assigned as an aide to the Admiral's Aide and had a very high-level security clearance. While training at the Naval Construction Training Center, he was honored as the Junior Sailor of the Quarter, April-June 2001. Marty leaves his parents, Maribeth and Mark White, his brothers, Montana and Mitchell and his sister, Marki-MaCaulie White, all of Bethany, Okla., and his niece, Ceanna "Noodles" Blake White, Deer Creek, Okla. On his mother's side of the family, he is survived by his Aunt Marsha Stephenson and Aunt Jan Anderson Parker, Great Uncle Bill Plummer, Ark.; and two cousins, Dr. Ted Smith and Tim Smith, and their families, Dallas. He is also survived by his paternal grandparents, Edward and Marsha White, Tampa, Fla.; and Ann Southerland, Bolivar, Tenn.; Uncle David and Tracy White, and cousins, Falon and Blake, Collierville, Tenn.; Aunt Cindy Eason and cousins, Greg Morris and Jeff Porter and their families; Uncle Mike Southerland, and cousins, Ryan and Cody and their families as well as many other family members and friends. His maternal grandparents, Ramon and LaRue Anderson, his Aunt Mona Smith and his Uncle Bob Stephenson, preceded him in death. Marty started traveling out-of-town on business and sharing a room with his dad, Mark, when he was only a pre-school child. As an adult, he continued to be his Dad's roommate when the two were working out-of-town installing bowling lanes. Marty, his brothers and Dad shared an especially close relationship forged from working together daily. He had a strong friendship and admiration of his little sister, "Nummies," and adored "Noodles," his niece, with whom he would play Barbie and Ken, build forts and dream up other imaginary escapades.
