Mark David Ridings, 62, went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2008. He was born May 31, 1946 in Oklahoma City to E. Paul and Lois Ridings. He lived in Bethany, Oklahoma for most of his life and graduated from Bethany High School in May, 1964. He was in track and field and played the trombone in the band. He retired from Lucent Technologies in 2001 at the age of 55 where he had worked for over 30 years. In his early years he enjoyed golfing and playing tennis. He was a very avid reader and enjoyed working puzzles and crosswords, or just about anything that was a mental challenge. He often tried to recruit his family and friends to go with him to Remington Park where he enjoyed betting on the horses. He was especially fond of Tuesdays Senior Day. Dad was a simple man who did not expect a lot from life but took what was dealt and made the best of it. We could all learn something from that. He is survived by his daughters April Vela and husband Jose, Angela Parrish; sons Mark Aaron, Jack and wife Stacy; sister Joy Pauley; brother Paul; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 3, 2:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel.
