Mark Morris
Mccaslin
May 25, 1955 — May 11, 2026
Mark Morris McCaslin, 70, of Yukon, Oklahoma, devoted husband, father, and grandfather, went to be with Jesus on May 11, 2026 after suffering complications of cardiac arrest.
Mark was born on May 25, 1955 to Robert "Allen" and Ina McCaslin in Newton, Kansas and later moved to Denver, Colorado where he graduated from Jefferson High School in 1973. After graduation, Mark moved to Bethany, Oklahoma to attend Bethany Nazarene College. Except for a short time in Florida, he spent the remainder of his life living in the Oklahoma City area. Mark married Liann Julian at Norman First Church of the Nazarene in June, 1975. They were married 50 years and raised two children, Michael and Amy.
Mark spent a good portion of his career working in ophthalmic supply, where he was involved in sales, installation, and marketing. He bookended his career working with his hands in construction; most recently as a general contractor. Mark could fabricate or fix just about anything, and it usually turned out better than the original. After his children were grown, he was excited to move onto an acre of land, where he put a shop filled with the tools that allowed him to do this work well. He passed along this desire to make and fix to his children.
There were lots of things that held Mark's interest. He and his family spent many spring breaks skiing together throughout Colorado. He and Michael also shared a love of fly fishing, and traveled to Chalk Creek in Colorado for that express purpose on multiple occasions.
Mark had a desire to learn guitar from his youth, so he signed up for lessons as an adult. He, along with several friends from church, founded One A-Chord, a bluegrass band that specialized in hymns. "I'll Fly Away" was probably their signature song and they sang it in church, Sunday School class parties, and other private events. Mark also spent time in the 90's building computers. He always maintained that PCs (computer and phone) were superior "because you can work on them!"
In his partial retirement (because he never completely quit working) Mark continued to remodel the homes of family and friends, particularly as a ministry to widows from church. He also joined the "Wood Chucks" ministry at church, which cut and split wood to send on mission trips to the Indian Reservations in New Mexico, where many homes use that as their sole source of heat.
Mark indulged his dream of being an equipment operator and amassed quite a fleet, which over time included a skid-steer loader, zero turn mower, tractor, four-wheelers, and more. He also devoted hours to puttering in the vegetable garden with Liann, which, among other things, produced more onions than they could ever use.
He is survived by his wife, Liann; his children, Michael (Amber) McCaslin and Amy (Jonathan) Jeffries; grandchildren, Kinsey, Anna, and Leo; brother, Rob; and sister, Margo (Clark) Rabe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Ina McCaslin; and sister-in-law, Evelyn.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 15 at 2:00 pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service Chapel in Bethany, Oklahoma.
