Marjorie I. Thompson, 88, of Bethany, died August 16, 2011. She was born to Earl and Frances (Cleaver) Nelson on Nov. 29, 1922 in Grand Rapids, MI. She married Richard Thompson in 1943 and was married 43 years until his passing in 1987. She was secretary of Putnam City Intermediate Schools and Transportation for 30 years but, just as importantly, a wife and mother. She served as a state officer for Alpha Delta Alpha. Marjorie was an active member of Putnam City Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, and sister Virginia Lombard. She is survived by her sons, David and wife Sherry of OKC, Dennis and wife Beth of OKC, Dale and wife Mary Anne of Tulsa; sister, Norma Nicks of Mesquite, TX; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be noon-9pm Thursday and 8am-9pm Friday. Services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, August 20, at Putnam City Baptist Church with interment following in Rose Hill Burial Park.
