Marilyn Anne Conaway, 68, passed away on September 18, 2009. She was born in Duncan, Oklahoma, on January 23, 1941 to Irl W. and Ruth Harper. Marilyn graduated from Duncan High School in 1959. She then received her nursing certificate from the OU School of Nursing. As a Registered Nurse, Marilyn worked for Dr. James D. Funnell from 1973 until her retirement. Marilyn was more than just a nurse, she was a devoted caregiver and friend to the many patients she attended over her career. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter Michelle McLaws and husband Scott of Edmond, and their three children, Melissa, Shawn, and Matthew; and by her son Dr. Keith Conaway and wife Brandi of Shawnee, and their four children, Kory, Kristen, Avery, and Karsen; brother Gary Harper and wife Nancy of Kingston, Oklahoma ; brother Joe Harper and wife Johnette of Duncan, Oklahoma; sister Sherri Singer and husband Gerry of Duncan, Oklahoma; sister Teresa Carlile and husband David of Oklahoma City; eight nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. Family was everything to Marilyn and she enjoyed having everyone together to celebrate the holidays which were so important to her. Marilyns greatest joy was her grandchildren and being there to support them in all they do, from school activities, to band concerts, to dance recitals, and their numerous sporting events. Marilyn was the central figure in many lives and touched many others with her kindness and generosity. She will always remain alive in the memories of those who loved, respected and treasured her. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 10100 Ridgeview Drive, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
