Obituary

Marilyn Kay Butler was born August 19, 1941, in Fairview, Oklahoma, to parents Albert and Elizabeth Heinrichs and, after a short illness, went to be with her Lord on April 1, 2011. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Elizabeth Heinrichs of Fairview, paternal grandparents, Jake and Lydia Heinrichs, and maternal grandparents, Reuben and Lydia Eck, all of Fairview. Marilyn spent a storybook childhood in Fairview where she graduated from Fairview High in 1958. During her senior year, she was Drum Major for the band and crowned Miss Fairview. She moved to Enid after graduation and earned a degree from Enid Business College. In 1960, she married Bruce Butler of Fairview. Early in her working career, Marilyn was a legal secretary. She moved on to become Director of Human Resources at a large law firm in Dallas, where she worked for 30 years. After her retirement, Marilyn moved back to Oklahoma to be near her family. Marilyn is survived by her brother Richard Heinrichs and wife Judith, Enid; sister Loretta Pollman and husband Chris, Weatherford; two nephews, Carl S. Heinrichs and wife Shelly, Cairo, Egypt, and Brad Heinrichs and wife Jennifer, Oklahoma City; two great-nieces, Annie Heinrichs, Cairo and Moxie Heinrichs, Oklahoma City; two aunts, Lourene Eck, Fairview and Leona Duerkson, California; one uncle, Leonard Eck, Yukon; and her two kitties, Beau and Bentley. She is also survived by 12 cousins. Marilyn was an avid reader and loved to play the piano. A fierce animal lover, she spent her life surrounded by pets, which she treated like royalty. Marilyn was a beautiful person inside and out and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. We wish her God speed for a happy reunion with family and friends that have passed before. Memorial services for Marilyn will be held Saturday, April 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, OK 73008, phone (405) 495-4363.
