Obituary

Margie Neal (Koepf) Sneed June 4, 1931 March 11, 2023 Margie Neal (Koepf) Sneed, a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on March 11, 2023, peacefully at Integris Inpatient Hospice House in north Oklahoma City. Margie was born in La Grange, TX to Benton Thomas and Ina Ruth Koepf on June 4, 1931. The family moved to Fort Worth, TX after the death of her infant brother, James Royce. Her demeanor growing up as a child was always one of kindness, caring, and compassion leading to nursing as her chosen profession. She attended nursing school at City County Hospital graduating in 1951 and later finishing her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Texas Wesleyan University in 1954. Her nursing career took her from Fort Worth to Eagle Lake to Beaumont working in various settings and positions. Margies eventual chosen nursing specialty area was obstetrics where she was very proud of the opportunity to serve many women, helping several doctors to bring numerous babies in this world, and even a few on her own. The love of her life was Kenneth Weldon Sneed. While the younger twelve-year-old Margie expressed her love to the then seventeen-year-old Kenneth, it would take another sixteen years for this love to be realized into a union of marriage (March 13, 1959) that would last 58 years! Clearly the Lord had plans for them to be together in His timing. To this wonderful, loving couple were born three children: Aletha, Weldon, and Tom. The family bounced a little bit between Texas and Oklahoma for different job opportunities finally landing permanently in the Oklahoma City area (Bethany) in 1967. During these years, Margie continued to work different nursing positions in Texas and Oklahoma until the full activity of their family life needed her at home managing the house and acting as bookkeeper for the family custom jewelry manufacturing and repair business, Sneeds Manufacturing Jewelers. It should be known that Margie answered yes to the question of "do you want to follow Jesus" when she was twelve years old at Lake Drive Baptist Church in Fort Worth, TX. She and Kenneth were regular church attenders all their life and served in the churches they attended until they were unable to do so. While at 17-18 years of age she questioned her earlier in life decision, she renewed her decision so as to own her faith and fully understand her security in Christ. It should also be known that Margie (and Kenneth) made it a point to raise the family in church so as to spur on her children, and generations to follow, in having a personal relationship with Jesus. This is Margies great legacy, the influence on multiple generations of family and others to follow Christ. Margie is survived by her children, Aletha and husband Gary, Weldons wife, Sandra, Tom and wife Polly; grandchildren, Benton (Kristin), Katie (Shane), Linde (Mitch), Kyle, Tallie (Jackson), Rebekah (Michael), Kayla (Chris), and Phillip (Brooke); brother, Dwayne (Barbara); nieces and nephews; 20 great-grandchildren and who knows how many more to come! Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; son, Weldon; parents; brother, James Royce Koepf; sister, Peggy Brown; parents-in-law, Thomas and Fannie Sneed; and many extended family.
