Margie Ann (Gunn) Murray, left this life, to begin her new one, on January 20, 2011, after a brief illness. She was born May 8, 1929 to Oma and Charles Gunn. She graduated from high school in Dill City, OK in 1947 and went on to get a degree in teaching. She taught briefly in Woodward and El Reno, and then came to Taft Junior High where she spent the rest of her career teaching English to several generations of young people. After retirement, Margie married a fellow teacher, Francis Murray. She was widowed in early 2000. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis, her parents, her sister Nelle, and her brothers Morris and George. She is survived by a niece, Carole Farris of OKC; nephews, Stephen Farris of Albuquerque, NM and Robert Gunn of Guthrie, OK; Kitty Beck, sister-in-law of OKC; Keven, Diane, Kim and Georgeanne to whom she was also Aunt Margie; as well as her very dear friend, Emmett Steeds of OKC. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Manchester House, where she has lived for the past few years and the Chaplains, ER staff and ICU nurses at Baptist Hospital. Viewing will be Monday, 12 noon-9pm at Mercer-Adams. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 25, 10:00am at Northwest Baptist Church followed by interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
