Obituary

Margarete Weber-Watson was called home to be with our Lord on November 3, 2022. Marga was born January 1, 1934, in Darmstadt-Eberstadt, Germany to Ludwig Weber and Elizabete Gartner-Weber who preceded her in death as well as her sister Irmgard Weber, brother Dieter Weber and her husband Don Holland Watson. Marga is survived by her sons, Gunter and Gerald, and daughter Lydia, sister Lieselotte Weber-Jones, 1 nephew, 3 nieces, 6 grandsons, 2 great-grandsons, 3 great-granddaughters, 1 great-great-grandson, and 2 great-great-granddaughters. Marga along with her brother and sisters survived a world war that would rob them of their childhood as well as their father. Her mothers protection and strong will were an influence that would be with her throughout her life. In 1957 she met her husband of 63 years. The next major change would be to begin a new life leaving her beloved Deutschland behind. I cannot imagine the strength it took to come to the United States in 1959, with three small children. A new beginning that would catapult her into her new family in Blackwell Oklahoma having never seen them before and not speaking English. Going from mountainous Bavaria to the flatlands of Blackwell, no doubt, was quite a culture shock. In 1963, she began working for a beauty shop in Blackwell that introduced her to her steadfast lifelong friend, Margaret Keyser. Marga began working at the Graves Drugstore in Blackwell in the cosmetics department. In 1969 the family moved to Bethany Oklahoma and Marga began working for a local Dentist becoming a dental assistant for many years. When the dentist retired, she began working for Ingrids Kitchen and brought her talent for fine cuisine that brought many customers to see what she had cooked up next. Mom could make the best meals out of nothing, and leftovers that could pass even a Master Chefs palette. Her variation of German potato salad was incredible and never duplicated, close but it always fell short. It was a Mothers Love that made it special. After many years with Ingrid, she worked for United Discount Pharmacy and would retire there. Marga, Shawtz, Mom, Oma, Omi, loved to sing and was always active in her church. Every Sunday morning, she would have all three kids shoes polished and ready to go! When she found time to do this remains a mystery. She was a Sunday school teacher and a Superintendent in the Childrens department. She would sing solos often on Sunday mornings and during Christmas Cantatas in the choir along with her husband Don. While there were many accomplishments in Margas life, she was most proud of obtaining her United States Citizenship in 1964. At that time, she was required to have become fluent in English and pass a Federal mandated examination of American History before being sworn in as a US Citizen. There are not enough words to do justice to Margas life journey. We each carry a piece of her memory within us and can take Peace and Comfort from our Lord that she is now free from the restrictions of her earthly body and now is rejoicing with her loved ones in Heaven. I know the Lord has a special spot for her in His Heavenly Choir. Viewing will be Wednesday, 9am-8pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service. Graveside services will be 10:00am on Thursday, November 10 in Bethany Cemetery. "When we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be.
