Margaret Lynn
Taylor
Sep 28, 1957 — Mar 21, 2025
Margaret "Peg" Lynn Taylor was born September 28, 1957 to Wesley Lewis Taylor and Eleanor Ann Taylor in Elgin, Illinois. She lived most of her life in Illinois until moving to Oklahoma to be closer to family. She passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025 in Yukon, Oklahoma.
Margaret attended The Moody Bible Institute of Chicago in 1974 where she majored in Christian Education. She received a Teacher's Diploma from the Evangelical Teacher Training Association in 1978. She also attended Trinity College in 1980 and received her Bachelor of Arts degree. After graduating college, Margaret went into teaching and worked in the corporate world for many years before joining the family business, Mercer Valve Co., Inc., in 2006.
Margaret volunteered for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate). Although it came with challenges, she enjoyed being the voice for others when called upon. She also tutored children and was active in her church community. She enjoyed helping children and giving back to her community as it gave her that sense of belonging.
Margaret had such a love for her family and spending time outdoors. She also enjoyed cooking on the grill, plants and gardening, jewelry, anything purple, shopping, decorating, sewing, and spending time with her church family. She was a funny, loving, and strong-willed woman of deep faith who stood strong on the principals of right and wrong.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Eleanor Taylor; sister, Patricia Driscoll; and brother, Dick Taylor.
She is survived by Katie Harris, Stacy Taylor, Lia Driscoll, Kimberly Taylor, Richard W. Taylor, Anthony Taylor-Melvin, James Harris, Stacy Harris, Simeona Taylor-Slade, and Jacob Harris.
