Margaret "Maggie" Estelle
Hill
Sep 3, 1926 — Feb 7, 2024
Margaret "Maggie" Shaw Hill, 97, passed away peacefully at her home in Plano. TX on February 7, 2024. A Mainer with the accent for life, she was born in Bangor, ME on September 3, 1926, as one of 7 children. She lived in Maine, Oklahoma, Alaska, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Texas. She was married to Alexander Hill, now deceased.
Bethany became her home in 1970 and she was very active at St. Mark's Church. She was a member of Oklahoma Eastern Star; a former Worthy Matron. Walk to Emmaus was dear to her heart and she was a layperson. After retiring from OU Health Sciences Center, Maggie devoted lots of time to volunteering and helping others. As "Grammie," she took a very active role in raising her 3 grandchildren. She was the best Grammie. She lived with her daughter, Carolyn, and family for many wonderful years in her later life.
She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (George) Szekeres of Plano, TX and Alison (Mike) Williams of Oklahoma City; her beloved grandchildren, Miles Laird (Tina Le) of Fremont California, George Gregory Szekeres of Plano TX, and Zoe Szekeres of Plano TX; and a great-grandson on the way. We are all thankful for her love.
