Marcia J. Young, 92, passed away on May 16, 2023 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on January 26, 1931 to Charles Hightower and Eugenia (Norvell) Hightower in Purcell, Oklahoma. She graduated from Purcell High School in 1949 before marrying the love of her life, Tom Young in October, 1951 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After marriage, Marcia worked for Oklahoma Farm Bureau as a secretary and later on as a housewife & mother. Marcias favorite activities included cooking & baking for family & friends, various church groups & social activities as well as school activities and being a den mother for her son, Craig. She particularly looked forward to family dinner every Sunday evening & would always make a delicious meal & desserts. Lemon Snow Freeze Delight & Coconut cream pie were two of her signatures and cant go without mention. Marcia was always involved and loved attending all of her grandsons baseball, soccer & running activities through the years. She also enjoyed movies and various arts & crafts. In her younger days, Marcia was a distinguished twirler in the high school marching band. She also enjoyed vacationing, whether a cruise, one of many Colorado trips or one of the memorable trips to Hawaii. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; beloved spouse of 53 years, Tom; grandson, Chris; 2 sisters; and 3 brothers. She is survived by her son, Craig of OKC; grandson, Ryan & wife Lauren of Edmond; and great-granddaughter, Rylee; and special niece Becky Deaton & family of Dallas, TX along with many other nieces and nephews. Marcia will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be Monday, May 22 at 2:00pm at Mercer Adams Funeral Service in Bethany, OK. Interment and graveside services to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Oklahoma City, OK with Pastor Eric Harris officiating.
