Mae Ruth Swanson, 85, passed away in Okla. City, OK on Fri., Jan. 22nd, 2010. She is survived by her daughter Karyn Patterson, son G. Kevin Gilroy and grandson G. Richard Gilroy, all of Los Angeles, CA. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where for many years she was the featured soprano soloist in The Sanctuary Singers. Best remembered as the sole Heart and Soul of Oklahomas Civic Music Association and Lifetime Award Achievement winner from the National Association of Fund Raisers for her work as a Non-Profit fund raiser extraordinaire. Mae Ruth is also remembered as the YMCAs She wont take NO for an answer, Oklahoma City Universitys Director of Endowment Campaign and Southern Nazarene Universitys Guiding Light when it came to the exemplary performance she gave as their greatest asset in management and fund raising over many decades. Services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, Feb. 1st, 2010 at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service chapel in Bethany, OK. Donations in her honor may be made to the First Presbyterian Church children's music program.
