Mable Evelyn Harrison, our beloved aunt, passed in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on January 31, 2014. Mable spent her life in service to others in selfless love. Mable was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on August 22, 1919 to the home of Granvill and Lizzie Stapp. One of eight children, Mable's childhood was filled with delightful memories of simple games and fun, hard work ethic, and a loving family. Mable married Ottis Harrison in Pauls Valley on February 4, 1940. The couple lived in Idaho during parts of WWII, but their Oklahoma heritage brought them home following the war. Mable worked in the insurance industry before retiring to care for her home and her husband, Ottis through 71 years of marriage. Ottis preceded Mable in death on June 1, 2011. Mable was a forty plus year dual cancer survivor. Mable and Ottis were faithful members of Olivet Baptist Church where she participated in the youth and senior ministry. Mable had hoped to live to be 94, the same age as her father. She was the final living member of her siblings, which included, J.B. Stapp, James Stapp, Craig Stapp, Allie Mae Fitzgerald, Bob Stapp, Clytie Calton and Mary Ann Clark. Mable is survived by nieces and nephews who remember her love and attention to them fondly, Don Fitzgerald, Bill Calton, Suzanne Blake, Gary Calton, Jann Stapp, John Stapp, Cindy Gallagher, Will Stapp, Liz Ussery, Sharon Davis, Ken Clark, Jane Calton, John Clark and Donna Courter and generations of their children.
