Obituary

Mabel "Georgene" Rhame was born September 8, 1932 in Tullos, LA to George and Mabel Hendrick Winham and was taken home to be with the LORD on January 30, 2024.

Georgene graduated from Minden High School, Minden LA. She met her husband, Sidney W. Rhame Jr. in high school and they were married on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 1951. Georgene and family moved to Oklahoma City in 1970.

Georgene was an active member of Northwest Baptist Church in OKC where she taught 4th grade Sunday School for 22 years. She then joined her husband in the Adult I Sunday School Department where he was director. Georgene became the Senior Activity Director for Senior Adult I & II Sunday School Departments and served in that capacity for 14 years.

Georgene became the first Admitting Clerk when Bethany General Hospital opened its doors on October 1, 1970 and after 15 years moved to the Medical Records Department where she worked until her retirement in 1992.

Georgene was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Sidney. She is survived by her brother, Ansel Winham and his wife Mary; her three children, Joy McDonald, Sidney W. Rhame III and his wife Melodee, and George Rhame and his wife Teresa; as well as five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Viewing at Mercer-Adams will be Thursday from 9am-8pm with family present from 6-8pm. Memorial services will be Friday, February 9 at 2:30pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel.
