Obituary

Mabel Rae Allen, 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 16, 2014. She was born March 2, 1919 in Paden, Oklahoma to John and Cordelia (Mayfield) Stubblefield. Her family moved back and forth between Lincoln Co. and Barry Co, Missouri. She married Otis Allen, December 29, 1938, and they began farming in Lincoln County, raising cattle. In the 1980's, they purchased and operated a catfish farm which she worked hard alongside my Dad. People came from all around the area to fish and relax, creating lifetime memories for children and adults. Mabel was a hard working lady, portraying the true Pioneer Woman spirit of Oklahoma. She was a longtime member of First Assembly of God, Stroud, OK and Cushing, OK. After 62 years of marriage, Otis passed away in 2000. She then bought a home in Cushing, OK and lived alone for 3 years. In 2003, she moved to OKC to share a home with her daughter, Carolyn, by a small lake on Green Meadow Lane. She and Carolyn so enjoyed their time together, even traveling to Hawaii, California, Boise, Idaho, and Branson, Missouri. Carolyn's friends became Mabel's friends and she was dearly loved by all. Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother, 6 sisters, daughter, Patricia Ann Hart and son, Charles Otis Allen. Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Siegfried of OKC; 4 grandchildren, Anthony, Kari, Randy and Rebecca; 5 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. God sent us an angel in Joana Moreno to take such wonderful care of Mabel these last 2 years. She and Mabel developed a great love for one another. Viewing will be Monday, 10am-9pm, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Tuesday, January 21, 2:00pm at First Assembly of God Church, Stroud, Oklahoma, with David Plank officiating with interment following in Stroud Cemetery. She was ready to go home to be with her Mom and Dad, her husband, son and daughter. She is dancing on streets of gold and having a sweet reunion with her family and friends. Funeral Service Tuesday, January 21, 2014 02:00 PM First Assembly of God Church 410 W. 2nd Avenue Stroud, OK
