M. Lloyd Hampton of Oklahoma City departed this life on April 30, 2020. He was born on July 17, 1937 to Mabern A. and Wanda (Hammack) Hampton in Bee House, Texas, the third of five children. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Tony; his sister, Beverly; and granddaughter, Marisa. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy; his son, Craig and wife Alicia; and granddaughters, Kate and Meg; his daughter, Lisa Hart and her husband Michael Palmer; sisters, Iva and Pat; uncle, Steve; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members whom he loved dearly.
Lloyd earned his degree from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, where he met Nancy Warren. They married on June 6, 1959, and began life together in San Antonio, Texas, before moving to their permanent home in Oklahoma City in 1966. Lloyd worked at numerous jobs from the age of 12 before settling into a career with Proctor and Gamble, retiring in 1995 after 32 years. Lloyd and his family have been part of the Bethany First Church of the Nazarene family since 1977. He will be remembered as a loving, kind, generous, light-hearted, Christian soul, and will be missed by all who knew him.
A come-and-go visitation is planned for Sunday, May 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams. A graveside service for immediate family will be held on Tuesday, May 5 at 11:00 a.m. and will be live-streamed through the Mercer-Adams Funeral Service website. A memorial service will be held at the Pearl Community Center in Pearl, Texas on July 18 at 10:00 a.m.
