As you read this Lyn Coody is enjoying her heavenly home. She arrived there June 8 totally healed and full of joy. Lyn was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on June 4, 1950. She graduated from Bethany High School in 1968, received her bachelors degree from Bethany Nazarene College in 1972 and later her masters degree from Southwestern Theological Seminary. She spent most of her working career at GMAC. When their offices closed in Oklahoma City she chose to stay in Oklahoma rather than transfer to a GMAC office in another state. She was with Goodman Networks at the time her illness required her to retire. Lyns passion was sharing with others in Bible study groups. She is known for her acts of kindness and her generosity to others. She had a personal ministry of praying for and sending daily cards to people who were going through difficult times. She also crocheted prayer shawls to give to people, even strangers who seemed to need to know there was someone praying for them. She enjoyed traveling, mountain climbing in Colorado, fishing at South Fork, watching hot air balloons at the festival in Albuquerque, sight seeing with Marcia in California and shopping with friends in Dallas. She shared her weekends with special friends. Lyn was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Darwyn Coody. She is survived by her parents, Darwyn and Marie Gandy Coody; her sister, Marcia Leys & husband George Leys; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Lyn would encourage you to accept Jesus as your Savior, study the truths of God's Word and believe His truths, live by His truths and be prepared for eternal life with Jesus in heaven---it is forever. Come celebrate Lyns life with us Friday at 2 p.m. at Bethany First Nazarene Church, 6789 NW 39th Expressway, Bethany. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mercer Adams Funeral Home.
