Rev. Lyman Paul Wood, 89, went to be with his Lord June 15, 2009. He was born April 22, 1920 in Hedley, Texas to S.L. and Nora (Knowles) Wood. He was converted at the age of 9 and started preaching at the age of 17. His first pastorate was in Waco, Texas and he soon became SNUs first Director of Church Relations. He then pastored churches from New York to Lubbock, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Rhea; son Stanley of Chicago; sister Ruth Kaul, Oklahoma City; brother Elton and wife Margaret of Rhode Island; and brother Joe and wife Frances of Virginia. Services will be Wednesday, June 17, 2:00 p.m. at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene with burial in Bethany Cemetery.
