Luella Roden, 92, beloved mother, Meme, and Great-Meme, went to be with her Heavenly Father on April 29, 2011. She was born February 17, 1919 in Lamar, Oklahoma to James R. and Mattie Martin. A member of Putnam City Baptist Church since 1949, Luella impacted the lives of many youth during her 25 years of service as a Director of the 16 year-old Sunday School Department. During her 26 years of service to the Putnam City School system, she also worked as the Overholser Elementary lunchroom hostess and was known affectionately as George. Luella was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, James Alton Roden, her son, James, her parents, and her 6 siblings. Luella is survived by her daughter, Jeanna Outlaw and husband Jerry; grandchildren, Teresa Atkinson and husband Ron, Patrick Outlaw and wife Hilary; great-grandchildren, Jace, Rion, and Lauren Atkinson, Taylor and Reese Outlaw; and nieces and nephews. We remember her sense of fun from our childhood, her words of advice and encouragement from our youth, and always her prayers and love. Her influence touched many generations and will live on in our hearts. We will miss her. Viewing will be Sunday, 11am-9pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, Bethany, Oklahoma. Services will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, May 2, 2011 at Putnam City Baptist Church, 11401 N. Rockwell, Oklahoma City, OK, with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery.
