Lucas Cardoso, 36, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023 in Springer, Oklahoma. He was born November 10, 1986, to Miguel and Celia Cardoso in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Lucas spent the first 14 years of life on his familys farm in the beautiful countryside of Mato Grosso, Brazil prior to his family moving to Coppell, Texas. He attended Coppell High School where he played on the tennis team. He attended Tyler Junior College on a tennis scholarship, followed by the University of Texas at Arlington where he studied business. He taught private tennis lessons for many years and worked as the General Manager for American Truck Services for 11 years. In the fall of 2022, he joined Bruckners Truck & Equipment in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma as an Outside Sales Manager.
On April 26, 2014, he married the love of his life, Aimee Katherine (West) Cardoso of Coppell, Texas. Together they made everyone feel they were their best friends and made a huge impact on every group and community they touched. As a committed believer in Jesus Christ, Lucas played guitar on the praise team at each church they attended together: Prestonwood Baptist Church, Plano, Texas, Compass Church, Colleyville, Texas, and Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, Bethany, Oklahoma.
On May 21, 2021, he was honored to take his oath of allegiance and become a U.S. citizen. Lucas was extremely committed to his family and friends. He was the most adoring, devoted and supportive husband, very proud of his wifes artistic accomplishments and other endeavors. They radiated the love and light of Christ everywhere they went.
Lucas is survived by his parents, Miguel and Celia Cardoso of Coppell, Texas; one brother, Rai; two aunts, one uncle and 14 cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at https://www.cancer.org/donate.html
