Obituary

Loye Floyd Doty, 87, died January 8, 2011, in Oklahoma City. Loye was born July 23, 1923, in McFall, Missouri, to Rollie and Viola Hazel (Baker) Doty. He served our country during WWII as a Seabee in the Philippines. Loye was a brother, husband, father, grandfather, and a great-grandfather. He had eight brothers and sisters; Charles, Marge, and Marilyn are left to mourn the loss of their brother. He was married to Erma Turney, who preceded him in death. He then met and married Emma who later passed on January 5, 2008. Together, Emma and Loye raised six children; Loyd Doty (Barbara) and Ray Doty (Lois) of Memphis, Tennessee; Tim Doty (Kathye) of Denver, Colorado; Jimmy Doty (Linda), Carol Hildreth (Kent), and Vernon Goodwin of Oklahoma City. One daughter, Paulette, preceded him in death. There are 16 grandchildren and too many great-grandchildren to count but they were just as loved. Viewing will be from 8am-9pm Wednesday at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service. Funeral Services will be held at 10am, Thursday, January 13, 2011, at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment following at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Norman, OK.
