Louis Mark Franks was born on October 29, 1954 and was welcomed into Heaven and Jesus arms on November 30, 2017. He was a member of Council Road Baptist Church. He graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1972. During junior and high school he helped coach Pee Wee softball and loved all sports after that. He made it through one year of junior college, but decided that was not for him. His primary occupation was with Gulfco oil field supply and selling fire fighters equipment at Cosco. He married in 1975 and is survived by 3 children: Jason and wife Eilene, Jennifer Franks, and Jill and husband B. J. Also survived by his mother, June. He was preceded in death by his dad, Louis T. Franks. Eilene described him best in her recent post on facebook, "My sweet, ornery, father-in-law Mark passed away this afternoon. It was completely unexpected to us, but God knew and orchestrated every detail. The ten years of knowing him will leave me a lifetime of memories. He loved his mama and daddy, his kids and all the grandbabies, movies, music, OU football, Thunder basketball, and the Oakland Raiders. He was one-of-a-kind." Although confined to his wheel chair and the nursing home for nearly 14 years, he did not complain - just made the best of a bad situation - wheeling through the nursing home, calling all the older people by their first names and joking with residents and staff. As one nurse said after they found out he had died, "we had more tears shed today than ever before." Go rest "High on That Mountain," Mark - The best is yet to be.Viewing will be Monday, 9am-9pm, with family present from 5-7 pm at Mercer-Adams. Services are at 10:00am on Tuesday, December 5 at Mercer-Adams Chapel followed by burial in Bethany Cemetery.
