Lorraine Mary Biggs peacefully went to heaven on Friday, April 30, 2010. Lorraine and her twin sister, Loreeta, were born in Piedmont, Oklahoma on May 24, 1921 to Ernest and Maude Kessler. She attended Piedmont Schools where she graduated as valedictorian. She also attended Central State College in Edmond. Lorraine married Lloyd Biggs on July 9, 1939. Lloyd and Lorraine lived their lives side by side farming and taking care of their home and family. Lorraine led a life of service and sacrifice for those around her, especially her family. An example her daughters remember is her decision to deliver eggs door to door to pay for piano lessons for them. Lorraine used her baking and sewing talents to minister to many people throughout her life. She had a quiet, humble personality using her gifts to show Gods love to her family, friends and neighbors. Lorraine enjoyed the time she spent working many years for the County Election Board. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Piedmont where she enjoyed singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school and participating and hosting many WMU meetings. Lorraine was a member of the Home Demonstration Club and won many ribbons for her dresses entered in the Oklahoma State Fair. Lorraine was preceeded in death by her husband, Lloyd; her parents; siblings Claude, Vella Emma and Loreeta; daughter Linda Starry, and sons-in-law Paul Adair and Larry Ford. Lorraine is survived by daughters Donna Adair and Shirley Ford; son-in-law-Walter Starry; son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Suzy Biggs; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lorraines life has had a large impact on many lives and those in her family are truly grateful for the legacy she has left us. The family would also like to thank the staff of ParcWay, especially the evening staff, for their love and care for our mother.
