Obituary

Lorine Brinkley Maddox was born on January 17, 1936, to Earl and Ada Wilson Brinkley in Wilburton, Oklahoma. On June 20, 2025, surrounded by her three daughters and their families, Lorine peacefully departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior.

After graduating from Wilburton High School, Lorine moved to Oklahoma City, where she met and married the love of her life, Rufus Gerald Maddox, on October 24, 1959. She embraced God's highest calling as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Lorine cherished her daughters—Donna, Sandy, and Denise—and found immense joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A faithful homemaker, Lorine exemplified grace and quiet strength. She had a gift for mending clothing with a skilled hand and a heart for cooking, generously sharing her meals with family and her church community. Her home was a place of warmth, care, and steadfast love.

Lorine was a lifelong member of the 50th Street Church of Christ in Oklahoma City. Her steadfast walk with Christ stands as a lasting testimony to her family and friends, offering them enduring hope and encouragement.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Rufus; her sister, Betty Funderburg; and her grandson, Kyle Gage.

Lorine is survived by her three daughters, Donna (Scott) Gage, Sandy (Bill) Adcox, and Denise Maddox; her grandchildren, Derek (Brooke) Adcox, Chanda (David) Williams, Lindsay (Brian) Malony, Felicia Adcox, Megan Gage, Rachel Gage, and Isaiah Maddox; and her seven great-grandchildren, Chayton Williams, Van Adcox, West Adcox, Lily Malony, Caitlin Malony, Kyle Malony, and Daxten Williams. She is also survived by her sister, Lois Langham, along with several beloved nieces and nephews.
