Lois Marie Fees passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 years, after living a full life enriched by a close-knit loving family, good friends, her gifted talent as a classical violin musician and teacher, a masterful skill in knitting enhanced by annual Wisconsin knitting camps, international travels, and her love of rat terrier dogs. Lois was a loving, cheerful lady with an engaging personality and interest in current events. Her talent as a professional classical violinist began at age 7, and continued through a lifetime career of playing professionally with the Oklahoma City Symphony Orchestra, as well as a 35-year career of teaching violin and other stringed instruments in the Oklahoma City Schools. Lois was born November 24, 1933, in Oklahoma City, the only child of Harry Raphael Fees (1895-1992) and Eutella Marie Ausmus Fees (1896-1974) of Oklahoma City. Harry Fees was an ingenious electrician, who climbed and kept the lights burning on the 915-ft. WKY transmitter tower (second highest in the western hemisphere), and he wired many Nichols Hills mansions. Marie was a classical pianist and genealogist. Lois did not marry, nor have children. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends and former students who will tremendously miss her wonderful smile, loving heart, and musical talent.
