Linda Ward-Taremi (nee Linda Carol Ward), 70, of Oklahoma City, passed away on December 12, 2022. Linda was born on July 20, 1952, in Oklahoma City to Aaron E. Ward and Mary Alice Ward (nee Hall). After Linda graduated from McLoud High School in 1970, she attended the University of Oklahoma before beginning a career with the State of Oklahoma at the Historical Society as an office administrator. This was the beginning of a career in public service that spanned more than two decades, with time dedicated to the State of Oklahoma and the State of Alaska. In March 1977, Lindas first child, Michael Ward, was born. Shortly thereafter, Linda met Ali Taremi. The two wed on October 6, 1982, and their daughter, Mehry Taremi, was born in September, 1983. Linda officially retired from the State of Alaska in 2009. After returning to Oklahoma, Linda spent her time gardening, adding to her eclectic collections of knickknacks and antiques, and enjoying the company of her siblings, children, and grandson, Jackson. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Aaron Ward, and her mother, Mary Alice Ward. She is survived by her son, Michael Ward; her daughter, Mehry Taremi; her grandson, Jackson Jones; her siblings, Wayne Ward, Renay Hammer, Gary Ward, Denise Ross, and Karon Ward; and her many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Mercer Adams Funeral Service in Bethany, Oklahoma on Friday, January 13, 2022, at 2:00 pm.
